This year has forced us to be a bit more creative when it comes to celebrations. Now that we've entered holiday season, most families will be "gathering" via Zoom or FaceTime. One affect that the pandemic has had on all of us... an awareness of our health. If you are managing a health condition, as we take a turn toward the holidays, it is more important than ever to watch what you eat.
After speaking with 'Ekahi Health's Program Director Robert Walker, there are more factors that come into play this holiday season. Walker says watching your diet, managing stress levels and exercise are all areas we need to focus on.
For Thanksgiving studies say,
Limit the amount of starch you consume
Add some color to your plate (brussels sprouts /fruits)
Get creative (Quinoa breakfast bake, sweet potato egg casserole)
Try and avoid taking off your mask as much as possible
