In Kenya and across Africa, losing a limb often means losing access to essential care—not because prosthetic solutions are unavailable, but because they remain financially out of reach for most people.
Rising cases of amputation caused by diabetes, road accidents, trauma, congenital conditions, and infections have exposed deep inequalities in healthcare systems, where shortages of trained clinicians, long waiting periods, and limited insurance coverage further restrict access.
Through Brenda’s story, this video brings into focus the real human cost of these barriers, showing how lives are constrained when prosthetic care is denied by cost, and how dignity, mobility, and opportunity can be restored when meaningful support is made available.
