Last week, Hollins University’s held its fourth annual Leading Equity, Diversity, and Justice Conference.
We kicked off the event on Thursday night with a screening of Amy Gerber-Stroh's film "Hope of Escape" at the historic Grandin Theatre. The turnout was incredible and heartwarming to see!
On Friday morning, Lloyd V. Hackley, Ph.D., a longtime leader in the nation’s charge for education access and equity, delivered a poignant 2024 keynote address.
There were a wide variety of learning opportunities to attend throughout the day, created by students, faculty, and staff, as well as outside guests from the Roanoke and higher education communities.
“Leading Equity, Diversity, and Justice Day aims to create an intentional and meaningful space for all of us to reflect, learn, and facilitate action toward making Hollins a more equitable and just community.” - President Mary Dana Hinton
