Icetoberfest is an annual event created by owners of Icelandic Sheepdogs to strengthen community bonds, promote responsible ownership and breeding practices and to raise money for the breeds rescue group; the National Icelandic Sheepdog Rescue Alliance (NISRA), a 501c3 charity and recognized rescue organization.
The NISRA is funded in whole by private donation and has volunteers across the USA and in Canada. Icetoberfest celebrated its 5th annual gathering in 2017.
