Article 16 of the pact reportedly requires all member countries to remain committed for at least 10 years after the agreement formally comes into force. Members seeking to withdraw after that period must provide three months' written notice. The 10-year commitment will begin only after the final instrument of ratification is deposited with the alliance's secretariat, rather than from the date the agreement was signed.
