The opening of the defence sector to private sector participation will encourage foreign Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to form strategic alliances with Indian firms.
This will allow them to leverage domestic markets while also targeting global markets. It will help to build domestic capabilities while also boosting exports in the long run.
The Ministry of Defence has set a target of INR 1.75 lakh crore in aerospace and defence goods and services by 2024, including Rs 35,000 crore in exports.💰
