HS2 Birmingham Interchange Begins to Take Shape | A45 and Station Site Works

In this latest drone flight over the future HS2 Birmingham Interchange Station, the footage captures a site that is still in the early stages of development but is now clearly becoming far more active. While there is not yet a great deal of permanent structure visible above ground, the scale of the preparation works already shows how significant this new HS2 station site will be.

The video looks across the main station area, where extensive groundworks and site preparation are now underway, revealing a noticeable step forward compared with my flights from October 2025. Earthmoving, formation works and the growing footprint of the construction site all point to the next phase of development as HS2 continues shaping this key interchange location near the NEC, Birmingham Airport and Birmingham International.

The flight also follows the works near the A45 Coventry Road, where the new HS2 line is set to pass beneath the road. This part of the route is especially interesting, as it helps show how the future railway will tie into the wider Birmingham Interchange scheme and the surrounding transport infrastructure. Even at this stage, the amount of activity on site gives a much better sense of the scale of what is coming.

This video provides a useful look at how the Birmingham Interchange area is evolving on the ground, with clear progress since late 2025 and much more visible activity across both the station site and the A45 section.
