A shocking and heart-wrenching incident has come to light from the Chandan Park area under the Samaypur Badli police station in Delhi, raising serious questions about relationships within families. On Wednesday morning, when four bodies were recovered from a rented room in Gali No. 1, panic spread across the Outer North Delhi area. The deceased were identified as 30-year-old Anita and her three minor daughters, aged just 3, 4, and 5 years.
According to the police, Anita had been living in a rented single room in Chandan Park for the past six months with her husband, Munchun Kewat. The family had moved to Delhi from Patna, Bihar, about eight months ago. Munchun worked as a ginger vendor at Azadpur Mandi and, like any other day, had returned home Tuesday night after buying vegetables from the market.
The crime came to light around 7 a.m. on Wednesday when a relative arrived at their residence for some work. The door was found open. Upon entering, he was horrified to see the bodies of Anita and her three daughters lying in pools of blood. Deep cuts from a sharp-edged weapon were visible on their throats. Police from Samaypur Badli station, along with the crime team and forensic experts, rushed to the scene after receiving the information. The bodies were sent for postmortem examination.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the victims may have been administered a sedative before the murders, possibly to prevent resistance. They were then allegedly killed by slitting their throats. What has shocked investigators further is that no neighbor reported hearing any screams or disturbance during the night. Residents living in adjacent rooms stated that the family appeared calm and reserved. “We never heard any fights. The children were often seen playing outside,” a neighbor said, adding that everything seemed normal on Tuesday night as well.
Relatives have also denied any knowledge of serious disputes between the couple. According to them, Anita and Munchun appeared to have a stable relationship. “We were never aware of any domestic conflict,” a close relative stated. However, police are not ruling out any angle and are thoroughly examining the couple’s personal and financial circumstances.
The prime suspect in the case is husband Munchun Kewat, who has been missing since the incident. Police have registered a murder case against him and formed multiple teams to trace his whereabouts. Raids are being conducted at possible locations linked to him. Investigators are also exploring whether financial stress, family issues, or mental pressure could have driven him to commit such a heinous act.
Authorities are awaiting the postmortem and forensic reports to confirm whether sedatives were indeed used before the killings. The incident has left the neighborhood in deep shock and fear. The brutal killing of a young mother and her three innocent daughters once again highlights the disturbing rise of domestic crimes in the national capital. Police officials have assured that the accused will be arrested soon and the full truth behind the crime will be revealed.
