Full audio from 2 disc set of Prince and the NPG in Club Le Bataclan Paris 6th May 1994. Don't be deterred by the reduced audio this is a fantastic show and a true demonstration of what it was like to be in the audience at one of these performances. The final track on disc 2 is Endorphine Machine which was taken from French TV channel Canal+ the previous night. However I have included the actual tv performance in this upload and put it at the start of this set.
On the day of the 13th November 2015 I, like many in the UK and across Europe waited tentatively on ticketmaster for the release of tickets for Prince's forth coming tour Piano and a Microphone. Due to ticket touts pre-selling tickets Prince decided not to release those tickets for sale on that day. Later that evening in Paris, events that could only be described as an act of shear inhumanity occurred. The Paris attacks took place and Club Le Bataclan became the target for terrorists who took 90 lives during a performance by the Eagles of Death Metal and injured so many more in that venue. This event lead to Prince pulling the entire tour of Piano and a Microphone in Europe. Who knows how Prince felt at this time having played at the venue on a number of occasions. One can only hypothesize on if Prince would still be here today had this tragic atrocity have not occurred. We will never know. In this set Prince performs Solo from the forthcoming album Come. It's difficult to hear the true scope of Prince's amazing falsetto voice over the crowd and I've never heard any other live performance of Solo elsewhere. If you know of one please let me know in the comments. This is definitely for the Prince purists out there and one of my favourite if not most poignent performances knowing what we know now. The version of Dark is outstanding and to hear the love the crowd has for Prince in this set is 2nd to non. Enjoy this for what it is. A moment in time never to return.👑
