Описание: The Historic Kinsol Trestle stands as one of the tallest free-standing timber trestle structures in the world, making it a remarkable sight to see. This large timber crossing spans over the scenic Koksilah River, nestled in a peaceful rural part of the Cowichan Valley Regional District near Shawnigan Lake on beautiful southeastern Vancouver Island. Originally built as a railway trestle in 1920 and lovingly maintained with several rebuilds over the years, it has a rich history. After the rail line closed in 1979, the trestle was silent for nearly 30 years until a wonderful revival for recreational trail use, starting in 2008. Reopened in July 2011, the Kinsol Trestle now generously shares its breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes as a cherished part of the Cowichan Valley Trail system.
