Wie Feld und Au so blinkend im Tau,
wie perlenschwer die Pflanzen umher!
Wie durch’s Gebuesch die Winde so Frisch!

Ach, aber da wo Liebchen ich sah,
im Kaemmerlein, so nieder und klein,

How the fields and meadows
glisten with dew,
how laden with pearls the surrounding plants!
How through the bushes the wind blows with such freshness!

in her small and simple room,
