We set out with a simple plan: mark a few “red dots” on the map, hit the road, and test them with a pan… because you’ll never know unless you actually get out there.
Day 1 starts rough — the country looks worked over and the gold is “fly-poop” fine… until a tiny untouched layer in an ancient bank starts giving repeatable colour. Then it happens again: one more pan… and suddenly Jens pulls 40–50 specks and we’re back in the game.
Day 2 we visit a spot near Canberra that’s been making the rounds online with big claims. Are the stories true? We dig into a tighter clay layer, crevice bedrock pockets, and work behind rocks and eddies… and the creek starts delivering.
And then the best twist of the day: we stop caring about the gold… because the real “bling” is something else entirely. 👀✨
