Idylle, Op.24 no 5
Backer-Grøndahl studied in Christiania, Berlin, Florence and under Franz Liszt in Weimar. She was also a very close friend of Edvard Grieg and her performances of his piano concerto were highly praised. She became one of the most considered pianist of her time and in later years also a very influential teacher. Her compositional output consists of around 400 works, mainly pieces written for the piano and songs.
