Hello there,
in this video, I present the build of the Williams FW19, the successful Formula 1 car from the 1997 season. This Revell 1:24 scale model offers a detailed replica of the car that secured Williams its ninth Constructors' Championship.

About the Williams FW19:
Designed by Adrian Newey and Patrick Head, the Williams FW19 was the last Williams car powered by a Renault engine before the manufacturer temporarily withdrew from Formula 1. During the 1997 season, the team, with drivers Jacques Villeneuve and Heinz-Harald Frentzen, achieved eight race victories, securing both the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships. One of the most memorable moments was the season finale at the European Grand Prix in Jerez, where Villeneuve clinched the title after a dramatic collision with Michael Schumacher.

The Model Building Process:
The build started with cleaning and smoothing the parts to ensure the best possible paint application. Priming was done for better adhesion, followed by airbrushing the main body color. The blue paint layer was particularly satisfying to apply, and for smaller details, I used a paintbrush. To enhance realism, I applied wash techniques to create a worn look on the engine components.

Applying the decals turned out to be quite a challenge, as some were extremely stiff and difficult to place, even with decal softener. In some cases, I used a clear coat to help the decals stick better. Finally, multiple clear coat layers were applied to protect the decals and give the model a glossy finish.
