When you call, ask the scheduler or contact center agent to clarify which conditions are being examined at your appointment. This information helps you prepare relevant documentation and anticipate the questions or evaluations you may encounter.
Once you know which disability or disabilities are being examined, you can download the relevant Disability Benefit Questionnaires, or DBQs, from the VA.gov website. You can also review the current diagnostic codes in the CFR to understand how the VA rates each condition from 0% to 100%. This will help you describe your symptoms accurately and be better prepared for your exam.
