Sector-113 Police Uncover Laptop Theft Gang; 03 Accused Arrested. 31 Stolen Laptops, Tools Used for Theft, ₹14,000 in Cash, and 01 Stolen Motorcycle with a Fake Number Plate Recovered from Their Possession/Upon Their Indication.

Details of the Operation:
On May 11, 2026, acting on manual intelligence and confidential information, the Sector-113 Police successfully uncovered a gang involved in laptop thefts. Consequently, three accused individuals—1. Lavish Kumar (son of Lala Singh), 2. Ankit Yadav (son of Jile Singh), and 3. Rajendra Verma (son of Mahaveer Verma)—were arrested from the village of Sorkha. From the possession of the accused—and based on their specific indications—the police recovered 31 stolen laptops, 03 laptop bags, tools used for committing the thefts (including a torch and a pocket-sized glass-breaking device), 01 health card, ₹14,000 in cash, and 01 stolen motorcycle fitted with a fake number plate.

Modus Operandi (Method of Operation):
Operating under the cover of darkness and utilizing a stolen motorcycle, the accused individuals would target vehicles parked at restaurants, shopping malls, and other crowded public areas. Their initial step involved using a small torch to identify laptop bags kept inside the vehicles. Subsequently, using a portable glass-breaking device, they would shatter the vehicle's window, steal the laptop within a matter of seconds, and immediately flee the scene. The stolen laptops were typically concealed by the accused in secluded locations and sold off whenever a suitable opportunity arose. The proceeds generated from these sales were divided amongst themselves and utilized to cover their personal expenses.

3. Rajendra Verma, son of Mahavir Verma, resident of Village Ganipur, Police Station Piperpur, Amethi (Current Address: Sadullapur, Police Station Ecotech-3, Gautam Buddha Nagar); Age: 40 years.
