Progress to an advanced level of guitar playing - http://bulletproofguitarplayer.com Overdrive and distortion units are the one type of pedal that I don't think I'll ever stop buying. I love experimenting with different OD and distortion pedals and today I'm showing you five of my current favourites.

Including:

The Suhr Eclipse - a distortion pedal with two identical circuits that you can switch between with the dual footswitches. High gain, amp-in-a-box style tones.

The 'Steel String Clean Drive' by Vertex - an overdrive pedal based on the Dumble Steel String Singer, a very rare Dumble amp used by the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer and Eric Johnson.

The 'RevivalDRIVE Compact' from Origin Effects. I recently produced a demo of this amp-in-a-box style overdrive that's capable of reproducing the sound of several classic tube amps from Fender, Marshall and Vox.

The 'ODR-Mini' by Nobels - based on the original Nobels ODR-1 that first arrived on the market in 1985. This unique sounding overdrive is it's own thing. It's not a tubescreamer. It's not a Klon. It's just... different. Famously used by players like Gary Moore, Jerry Donahue and Guthrie Trapp, it continues to be a mainstay on the pedalboards of countless session guitarists around the world.

The 'Bonsai' by JHS Pedals - every tubescreamer circuit in one pedal... really! This all-analogue overdrive contains nine tubescreamer-style circuits in the one box. Expect all of the usual Ibanez models like the TS808, TS9, TS7 and TS10, as well as a few oddities including the Keeley and JHS modded versions.
