Safety is always our top priority when operating laser equipment.
This includes not only the safety of the operators, but also the safety of the area around the laser processing station and the safety of the laser equipment itself.
Today we're testing a laser safety curtain from JEZ , its main function is to prevent the laser beam from affecting people and objects outside the laser processing station,to create a work area similar to a safety house .
The laser equipment we're testing is JEZ's best-selling 200W portable pulsed air cooling laser cleaning machine.
This model has laser power ranging from a minimum of 50W to a maximum of 500W, and is mainly used for automotive parts repair and refurbishment, cleaning of various industrial molds (injection molds, silicone molds, etc.), laser graffiti cleaning, restoration of wooden antique furniture, ancient buildings and historical relics preservation and restoration,and rust, paint, and oil removal from traditional metal products...
This laser cleaning equipment not only features multiple safety protections built into software, but also incorporates safety foot pedal protection on its external functions, and an emergency stop button on the handheld laser head .
Okay, let's start our testing process (the operator and videographer wore qualified laser safety goggles throughout).
Before that, we adjusted the 200W pulsed laser cleaner to the test parameters .
Then, we suspended the prepared laser safety curtain sample and the test balloon at the laser testing station.
First, we aimed the handheld cleaning head of the laser cleaner directly at the balloon to be suspended, and then pressed the laser button (the multi-safety-protected laser trigger button), the laser beam shot to the balloon's surface directly.
You can see that the balloon deflates the moment the laser beam touches it.
Now, let's see what happens if we perform the same action through the laser safety curtain.
The laser safety curtain completely blocked the laser.
After the laser was output at full power for more than 20 seconds and the surface temperature was nearly 300 degrees Celsius, no laser light hit the balloon behind the laser safety curtain, and the balloon did not deflate.
Also the laser safety curtain did not pose a risk of rapid spread.
