Lessons from Asma Ul Husna | Day 1 | Ramadan Series 1447H / 2026 | Sheikh Dr. Ibrahim Nuhu (حفظه الله) | An-Nadaa

In the introductory video to our series, the Sheikh (حفظه الله) addressed some essential matters related to all of our lives.

Explaining that the knowledge of Allah’s Names and Attributes is the greatest and most valuable form of knowledge, and that it supports all other disciplines of the Shari’ah in one way or another, he also reiterated the statement of Ibn Abi Al-Izz Al-Hanafi (رحمه الله), to remind us, that if we are looking for tranquility, comfort and peace of mind, we would not be able to — unless we feed our hearts with the knowledge of His (سبحانه و تعالى) Names and Attributes.

From the point where he spoke about what it means for us to apply this discipline in our lives, taking the example of Allah’s Name, As-Sami’, he mentioned the incident of Khawlah (رضي الله عنها) when she came complaining to Rasool Allah ﷺ, about the case of Dhihar on her. The Sheikh (حفظه الله)’s take from this event, was a profound principle on tarbiyah, and how the enemies of Islam, are targeting not us, but our children. And so, how the responsibility of upholding this amanah, on our shoulders, is all the more.

Delving briefly into a few more Names, we then see how the Tawheed of Al-Asma Wa As-Sifat is the one most battled with, amongst the Muslimeen — only because many derail from the correct and sound understanding of the Salaf and their principles regarding it. On the other hand, Tawheed Ar-Rububiyyah lies within everyone’s fitrah, and Tawheed Al-Uluhiyyah is the very message, for which every Rasool and Nabi was sent, (عليهم السلام).

With that, the Sheikh (حفظه الله) reflects deeper into Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud’s (رضي الله عنه)’s statement; urging the believer to adhere to the path of the Companions (رضي اللہ عنھم) of Rasool Allah ﷺ, for they, not only possessed the most righteous of hearts, but Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) declared that He is pleased with them — and He would not be, had they not been upon His guidance.
