The Birthday Joy Program celebrates children living in group homes on their special day

Описание: Birthdays can be one of the happiest times of the year. But for many children living in foster care, group homes and low-income households, a party isn’t always possible. One volunteer-run organization in Houston is working to change that.
Meet Kim Jackson, executive director of the Birthday Joy Program, and longtime volunteer Katie Figlus, who has supported the nonprofit since the beginning. Together with a community of volunteers, donors and local partners, they help make sure every child feels celebrated, bringing cakes, gifts and birthday joy to thousands of kids across Houston each year.
