Описание: ...Source: Transcript: Per InsideEVs, German auto supplier Webasto is working on a new device that could simplify and improve how electric vehicles manage heating and cooling. Called the Heated Chiller, this compact three-in-one unit is designed specifically for 800-volt systems and aims to replace three separate components: the air heater, high-voltage coolant heater and traditional chiller.

The Heated Chiller can heat and cool the battery, manage excess heat, and even help warm the cabin faster during cold weather—all from a single unit. By simplifying these systems and cutting down on pipes and components, Webasto says the technology could improve fast-charging times, extend battery life, reduce energy losses and even lower costs.

Although pricing and launch dates haven’t been announced, this new tech has the potential to streamline the design of electric vehicles and clear valuable space under the hood.
