WEATHER CONDITIONS: Clear skies, sunny, cool to slightly cold.

SITUATIONAL OVERVIEW: As the operation to take Ivanivkova rages on for better or worse, the Russian military has launched a small offensive on the weaker Eastern flank near the Chernarussian border. Thankfully the offensive petered out and ended with an encirclement, but a large number of units have broken out of the pocket and now aim to regroup with Russian units across the Western flank. In such a unique situation, it is imperative to try and divide these hostile units into smaller elements for the ill-equipped Chernarussian Borderguards to mop up. Given the civilian presence in the region, air support has been mostly stood down for the time being.

Given Russian missile strikes have targeted the nearby airfield, a headquarters for the Green Sea Battalion command has been set up at a small military storage depot north of the AO.

OPERATIONAL OBJECTIVES:

Elements of the Green Sea Battalion's 1st Infantry Group will launch from the small military storage depot North of the river, and proceed either directly to the objectives in ground vehicles, or be delivered via VALKYRIE 1 and 2 (if available) to LZ BASS or LZ CARP. They will then proceed to patrol towards the SITE 1, 2 and 3 to neutralize any concentration of hostiles. Any contacts encountered at each site or along the way should be pursued and destroyed/captured if possible. The overall objective is to confuse and sabotage organized efforts by the enemy to break out of its encirclement.

Both LZ BASS and LZ CARP are suggestions by headquarters for elevated, defensible and safe areas of landing for VALKYRIE. They are within the AO, and can be subject to contention from hostile scouts and nearby units.

Border Crossing 7 and Chernarussian territory are occupied/patrolled by Chernarussian Borderguards.

SITE 1: The industrial area and surrounding valleys and forest of the local Novitovary factory. Airborne reconnaissance suggests this as a natural rendezvous point for scattered Russian army units in the area.

SITE 2: The military radio station atop Hill 470. Use of the comms equipment there, as well as the commanding view of the surrounding terrain, is likely a source of long-range artillery coordination as well as coordination of units inside the pocket.

SITE 1: The town of Dobrik and surrounding areas. Known as a hotbed for partisan activity during occupation and a refuge of ChDKZ guerillas after the civil war, the area is believed to be linked to the success of the Russian breakout.
