Welcome to Clifton Gorge, located right next to John Bryan State Park in Ohio. Enjoy the scenic views and sounds as the crystal blue water of the Little Miami River carves its way through the land leaving behind a beautiful canyon with rapids and small waterfalls.
This 268-acre preserve protects one of the most spectacular dolomite and limestone gorges in the state of Ohio. Registered as a National Natural Landmark in 1968, Clifton Gorge encompasses a 2-mile stretch of the Little Miami State and National Scenic River, just east of John Bryan State Park.
There are a total of 3 miles of Hiking Trails at Clifton Gorge, which connect to more trails in the adjacent John Bryan State Park, which connects to even more hiking trails as the forest stretches all the way to Yellow Springs Ohio in the Glen Helen Nature Preserve.
The Little Miami River is a class 1 tributary to the great Ohio River and runs for 111 miles until it joins the Ohio River in Cincinnati.
Clifton is a village in Clark and Greene counties in the U.S. state of Ohio and is home to the Clifton Mill, one of the largest water powered grist mills still in existence.
