Here's the description from the game, and the patch (if you'd care to try it out yourself):
"this is the first in hopefully a series of many short hacks im going to make focused around a particular theme or gimmick. for vol. 1 i decided to focus on old school vanilla stuff. some levels are more about trying to experiment and find fresh vanilla ideas and other are basically nostalgia trips. hope you enjoy!

fixed a potential cheese in 'cactus avoidance'
fixed an occasional weird spawn issue if you died on the last screen of 'porpoise, again'
slightly nerfed the bullet jump at the start of 'midwest cover band'
