Not too long ago, I retired from thirty years of touring stage manger for U2, and buttload of other bands for 18 years previous to that. My aging body finally said enough. Now I record songs make videos in my studio.
It’s just for fun, and it certainly is that.
The 24 musicians I have assembled for this project all share one common quality. They are my heroes. They are from all over the world. Some are close friends, some I have never met face to face. I gathered them because I felt we share a love for music that transcends anything else. The only uncommon denominator is they said “yes” to me.
Some are people I have played with before, others I saw on FaceTube and liked their performances. Then it gets a bit out there. One is the surgeon that recently replaced 1 hip & 2 knees on me. Several I have only met over the phone. Some are old road dogs like me. All of them know I am nuts.
We all agree, KASHMIR was one of the greatest songs of the last 50 years, and we hope someone may see this video in another 50 years and say…
“Wow! Those folks are wacky, but what a great piece of music”
