The traditional union of this upazila is barob kundo union. There is a special reason behind the naming of these barob kundo, a fire that has been burning mysteriously in the water for thousands of years and you are about to witness it yourself. Three miles south of Sitakunda Sadar and about a mile east of it is a miraculous two-storied temple on a hill with a fire burning on water which you yourself are about to witness. Those who come to visit this Agnikunda Temple of Sitakunda should try to visit the temple early in the morning and come back by noon because in the evening the traffic is very dangerous in the hills and there will be no people around to help you. We are almost near our expected fire pit where the fire has been burning on the water for thousands of years. Before entering the fire pit we will come across several small Shiva temples and Shiva lingam. It is good to remember to take necessary food and water before coming here because inside the mountain. You will not find any food, water or any food shop here. Before entering the fire temple one must take off their shoes as it is a holy place for the Hindus who come from different parts of the country to worship and bathe in the temple. Next to Agnikundu, there are many small and big Shiva temples and Shiva lingams. Agni kundo is a thousand-year-old temple. Anyone who visits here will be amazed. This Agnikundu is located next to the several-hundred-year-old Kalbhairav temple. The place has several hundred year old temples especially Agni Kund next to it there are two Shiva temples Kalbhairava temple which has a priest to look after but neither priest nor people were seen on the day we visited. Many Hindu devotees come from far and wide to see it, especially the young generation is more noticeable. Also, Hindu devotees worship in the temple and bathe in the well. But it is surprising that there are two types of water near the well. One side of the water is quite cold and the other side of the water is burning with fire and the water is burning around the fire. According to the priests, Shilpa and Parvati were husband and wife. Parvati's father insulted Shiva one day and he could not bear it. Parvati left her body after hearing the news. In anger, Shiva started Nitya with Parvati. Because of this, the world was being destroyed. Vishnu divided Parvati's body into 51 parts, In ancient times human sacrifices were offered here to gods and goddesses in Holu. One day a fire caught fire even after many attempts, the fire could not be extinguished. According to Hindus it is their religious blessing. But science says different. According to science, methane gas was found in this mountain during the British period. For some reason, the mouth of the gas well was closed with lead. Since then, fire has been burning in the water, but its truth has not been proven.
