How to work 2 edge stitches in each side

In this DROPS video we show how to work 2 edge stitches in each side, and at the same time increase in one of the sides.
EDGE STITCHES:
At the beginning of each row work 2 edge stitches as follows:
Slip 1 stitch purl-wise with the strand in front, knit 1.
At the end of each row work 2 edge stitches as follows:
Work until there are 2 stitches left on the row, slip 1 stitch purl-wise with the strand in front, knit 1.
Repeat at the beginning and end of each row.
