Time lapse Garden Snails Compilation - with a Macro Lens

Описание: This video is twelve macro time lapse clips of garden snails. I used a Raynox macro lens DCR-250 with my Canon EOS 6D Mark 2 camera, did a whole series of shots with one second lapse over so many months during their weekly feeding, and then did a compilation of the best clips. Snails are hermaphrodites but I just call them he/him. I used the OpenShot video editor.

In this clip Three Eyes is waking up to another beautiful day. I call him three eyes because the right eye stalk has two pupils.

Three Eyes and Crunch feeding. Crunch is from eggs the original snails laid. He's called Crunch because twice he was right where my finger was when I grabbed a terrarium object to clean it. I fussed over him and he recovered fully. The other unnamed remaining hatchling comes in on the action too, and they all sort of do a snail rodeo.

In this one that hole is opening and closing. It is called a pneumostome, or breathing pore, so this is a clip of a snail breathing.

The nameless snail pooping. They poop out their pneumostome too, I guess it is used for both breathing and pooping. The snail also cleans its shell and eats a bit.

The snails are eating. The big one is Three Eyes, the smooth shell one is the nameless hatchling, and the smallest rough shell one is Crunch when he was still healing from his naming.

The nameless snail when it was still little, sort of sitting still, face shot. You can see their flesh pulsating, and their little face as they extend and retract their eye stalks.
