#IndianJetEngine | Air Vice Marshal PK Srivastava VSM (Retd) offers his insights on the long-delayed delivery of the F404-IN20 engines by U.S. aerospace giant GE to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the Tejas Light Combat Aircraft MK-1AM program. After a two-year delay, the first of 99 engines has finally been delivered, significantly impacting the production schedule for 83 Tejas MK1A jets. Air Force Chief Marshal AP Singh has expressed concerns over these delays, which have affected the timely delivery of the fighter jets. The $716 million deal covers not just the engines but also logistics, technical support, and equipment, with more engines expected to be delivered annually starting in 2025.
