A crude oil tanker captained by an Indian has reached Mumbai after navigating the war-hit Strait of Hormuz, briefly switching off its tracking system to enter dark mode while crossing the high-risk zone amid the ongoing Gulf conflict.

The Liberia-flagged tanker Shenlong Suezmax, carrying crude oil loaded from Saudi Arabia’s Ras Tanura port, arrived at Mumbai Port. The vessel was carrying 135,335 metric tonnes of crude oil, which has begun discharging and will be transported to refineries in Mahul in eastern Mumbai.
