In this video I do a pretty basic restoration on this 2018 Squier VM Mustang Fiesta red. I cleaned it, removed the rust, recrowned and leveled the frets, fixed the string height, changed the nut and cleaned the noisy potentiometers.
For the demo at the end I used a cheap Marshall MG15CDR practice amp with no pedals, a Shure SM57 and very little post-processing to show the real sound of the guitar.
Note: I'm not a luthier and I lack many tools, but I ended up very happy with this result, the guitar plays, looks and feels much better. Also, it's important to point out that another way to fix the buzzing problem at 11:20 would be to shim the neck to create enough break angle for the strings to sit better on the bridge.
