"De-Natured", Florence Debeugny's current artistic video in progress, addresses the theme of personal survival by treating trees and their physical struggle with the elements in nature as a metaphor for a human physical and psychological battle to survive. This video exploration is inspired by "Entanglements", Gordon Smith’s paintings of forest undergrowth layers. In "De-Natured", Debeugny favoures the treetops she captured from the perspective of the forest floor.
