An Iraqi woman 🧕 once journeyed to Damascus 🏜️, seeking Caliph Umar ibn Abdul Aziz’s (RA) help 🤲 for her 5️⃣ unemployed daughters 👧 . When she arrived, she saw his wife, Fatimah (RA) 🌸, sitting humbly on the floor 🪑, spinning cotton 🧵. Glancing at the bare home 🏚️, she whispered in disappointment 😔, “I thought I’d furnish my house from this palace 🏰, but it’s empty.”
Fatimah (RA) smiled softly 😊: “The emptiness of this house builds and fills homes like yours 🏡✨.”
When Umar (RA) entered 🚪, he welcomed her warmly 🤝, offered grapes 🍇, and listened with care 👂. His eyes filled with tears 😢 as he wrote a letter ✍️ to the Iraqi governor 🏛️, ordering an allowance 💰 for each daughter by name 📜. The woman left with joy 😀, carrying the letter proudly 🕊️.
But when she presented it 📩, the governor wept 😭: “May Allah have mercy on the writer… Umar has passed away 🪦.”
Her voice broke into screams of grief 💔😢. She had mocked his simplicity 🛋️—yet it was that very simplicity that carried the weight of the ummah 🌍⚖️. She realized too late ⏳: she had stood in the presence of a saintly ruler 👑✨, whose help served her even after his death 🌹.
