Baldwin Kustom 88 Stage Electric Piano Demo - Direct Audio and Effects

Описание: Today i picked up a Baldwin Kustom 88 Stage Piano for free. As i couldn't find any good quality direct audio demos on YouTube, i decided to upload one. Added a phaser later on just for fun :)

The piano sounds like a interesting mixture of a Wurlitzer 200A, a Rhodes and a CP-80. Really shines when EQed and put through some effects like a Phaser or a Chorus. Internal Tremolo sounds very nice and the built-in EQ really helps to bring it through the mix. The keybed is great and benefits from real sized weighted wooden keys - feels like a real piano.

Speaking from real pianos - the Kustom 88 ist really, really heavy. I hope I never have to move it again :) My father cursed a lot while helping me bringing this monster in the studio...

It looks like that my particular piano was built quite early, as it reads "Baldwin 88" and not "Kustom 88" like on later models (when Baldwin went bankrupt and was overtaken by Kustom).

The original owner bought the unit in 1987 used, schlepped the thing from gig to gig and finally put it in storage for a few years before he gave it away. He mentioned that their rehearsal room had an elevator, so they dont't had to move the thing upstairs every time...

Unfortunately i didn't find any user manuals or schematics on this thing. If anybody can help out, please contact me!

Excuse my sloppy playing, i was used to synth keybeds for the last few years and still trying to apply enough force to the keys ;)
