Описание: The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has proposed a major reform in teacher education by reverting the duration of B.Ed and M.Ed programs to one year from the 2026-27 academic session. This move comes a decade after the duration was extended to two years. The draft policy, now open for public feedback, allows Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) the flexibility to offer either the one-year or two-year format. The new admission process will involve a standardized test conducted by NTA. Additionally, specialized Integrated Teacher Education Programmes (ITEP) for Yoga, Physical Education, Sanskrit Education, and Art Education will also be introduced.
