YLE Puhe shutdown 7.1.2024

Описание: The broadcast of YLE Puhe was terminated at the midnight on 7.1.2024, being on air since 1998 (with the name of YLE Peili until 2009), starting as a DAB only talk station and later moved to FM and DVB-T. From which DAB was shut down completely in 2005, and DVB-T feed in 2016. FM frequencies are released for other use later this year, some were moved for YLE Radio 1. The reason for the shutdown was due to YLE cutting costs.

30 seconds after the broadcast ended, the main feed was cut. Transmitters moved to rebroadcast backup due to that, until they were shut down one by one.

Interesting things can be heard, somehow in the relay chain the audio of Yle1 and Radio Suomi had mixed, as can be heard on 92.5 Jyväskylä, 94.7 Pihtipudas and 97.5 Lapua. After the shutdown of 92,5, the others went silent. Squelch on 94.7 opened at times with something trying to come through.

Kruunupyy 88.8 sounds like the rebroadcast receiver overloads of other stations on the mast, after the parent feed Haapavesi 101.9 was shut.

A very weak audio of Radio Suomi can also be heard on the background on 101.9.
