I got this lamp from the thrift store sometime last year. What intrigued me is that it had an advertised lifespan of 12,500 hours, which is definitely more than the average incandescent lamp. I also noticed that it was quite dim compared to a regular 60w incandescent bulb, which probably meant that it was a 240V/250V bulb in disguise.
240V/250V lamps can be run on 120V for extra long life, but at the cost of efficiency and brightness. They also usually fill lamps like these with krypton gas to further increase the lifespan.
