Edwin Bakker and Jeanine de Roy van Zuijdewijn published their new book Terrorism and Counterterrorism Studies: Comparing Theory & Practice with Leiden University Press (2022).
Terrorism has been one of the most important threats to peace, security and stability in many parts of the world. But what does this mean? What is the nature of the threat? What can we done about it and how can we limit the impact of terrorism?
There are just a handful of questions that will be addressed in this book. The authors also investigate a number of widespread assumptions on (counter)terrorism, such as: is terrorism caused by poverty? Are terrorists crazy? Does decapitation of terrorist organisations work?
