Strong waves and winds battered Taiwan's southeast coast as Typhoon Podul made landfall on Wednesday (Aug 13). More than 5,500 people were evacuated from their homes in anticipation of the storm's impact.
Parts of Taiwan are still recovering from Typhoon Danas, which struck earlier in July, killing two people and injuring hundreds. Typhoon Pudol is expected to hit the island's densely western coast next, followed by China’s southern province of Fujian. #taiwan #taiwannews
