The day began under a blanket of grey skies, but as the afternoon unfolded, the weather transformed, revealing dramatic cloudscapes and golden sunlight that lit up the displays beautifully. The shifting conditions created a vapourfest, with jets carving trails through the moisture-rich air. Highlights of the flying display included the elusive USAF U-2 Dragon Lady, the world’s only airworthy Fiat G.91R, and a powerful send-off from the Royal Danish Air Force F-16. The Portuguese EH101 impressed with its agility, while the French Navy’s Atlantique 2 offered a rare glimpse of maritime patrol in action. With 26 nations represented, RIAT once again proved why it’s the world’s greatest military airshow.
