The Velliangiri Mountains, with a height of 5833 feet, is a part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve.
It is situated at the Western Ghats of Coimbatore district, in Tamilnadu state, India.

Known as the "Sapthagiri, 7 Hills Mountains", these mountains are held high and revered spiritually. It is considered as the most powerful place . Also called as the Southern Kailash!
On the top of the Velliangiri Mountains, Shiva is worshipped as Swayambhu, one who is self-created!

Devotees undertake a spiritual journey to be in the grace of Shiva during the months of February to end of May. Especially during Shivarathri, it is looking like a colourful fair! There are devotees all over.

Best timing: I recommend a night trek so that you are at the top of 7th hill to witness the beautiful Sunrise! I started at 8pm and reached by 2:30 am.

Essentials to be Packed :
Head torch/ Torch, Towels, Clothes for change after a dip, Very warm clothes, Sleeping bag, 1 water bottle, Dry fruits, Apples, Electrolyte sachets, Stick to be bought at the base. Rest is available in shops. Mouth freshener.
No plastics of any kind.

Suggestion: Never give up, reach to the 7th hill top.
Keep very light stomach and take sufficient liquids.
