Описание: FLIPPING AROUN THE FM DIAL IN SAN FRANCISCO ON JUNE 12, 2025:
We stop and check out just a few radio stations in San Francisco on this Thursday, June 12, 2025. In the news, Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys passed away the day before. Riots continue in Los Angeles, as well as other cities. Plus June is the month for Grads and Dads. High school seniors graduated this week, and Father's Day in coming up on the upcoming Sunday. And the weather is a bit gloomy and cool. Let's check out what jocks on SF radio are saying and doing.
BTW: You'll hear a lot about Disneyland's 70th anniversary and concerts in Las Vegas.

98.1 THE BREEZE (KISQ): First up is Sylvia Chacon doing middays on the lite AC in SF. And the first break we catch is about the passing of Beach Boy, Brian Wilson. We didn't catch her or 98.1 The Breeze playing any Brian Wilson lead Beach Boys tunes, but they would be apted to play some since The Breeze does play music from the 60's and 70's. I like how she keeps the music going, but not hearing anything local.

LIVE 105 (KITS): From the alternatvie station for the Bay Area we have Miles the DJ. He recently returned to KITS from his days when they were called, Alt 105.3. He's also the music director and a weekend jock on 106.7 KROQ in Los Angeles. Radio and music is in his blood, for his dad was known as Anthony Miles, who I worked with at Power 97 (KYRK) in Las Vegas. Here Live 105 is promoting heavily local concerts. And again, love how Miles keeps the music flowing.

CLASSIC HITS 103.7 (KOSF): Former MTV VJ and Bobby Brady's wife in the Brady's TV series, Martha Quinn wasn't always voice tracked. She actually did a live show on this classic hits radio station in San Francisco. Heck, I even called her show one day to talk about her role as Bobby Brady's wife. Yes, I loved that show! Here we have Quinn with pre-recorded station name before her voice track kicks in, playing back listeners from all across the country that wanted to congratulate their grads. And we have once again an example of teasing that we never heard the pay off. In fact, two breaks in a row in a 20 minute period of the same tease.

96.5 KOIT: He'll always be Mo B to me. And of course, I'll be Kidd Kelly to him. lol. Morris Knight is the afternoon voice tracker on the AC station. Morris and I worked together at KWOD 106 in Sacramento and 977 KWIN in Stockton. Not much going on here. He's also doing mornings at the classic rock station out of San Jose, 98.5 KFOX (KUFX). But because he's local, he does local content like something to do for Father's Day this coming weekend. And I love how he reworks calls he gets on his morning show and puts them on his afternoon show.

1077 THE BONE (KSAN): It's the afternoon jock, Nikki Blakk on the SF classic rock station. I remember Nikki from when she was at the rock station in Modesto. She would later make the rounds the Bay Area rock stations before returning to KSAN as 1077 The Bone. Nikki combines some bit of localism with national rock stuff. Hey. She's a rocker at heart.

997 NOW (KMVQ): Awwww yeah! Here we go! It's no secret that I love listening to St. John on the top 40 station, 997 NOW in San Francisco! Even when I'm driving around other cities in the afternoon, I'll listen to St. John. He's not only so fierce....he's so fun. I've said it before, I'll say it again. If you are programming a top 40, adult top 40, or a country station, you need an afternoon drive time personality that does it right like St. John. By far one of the best DJs on the radio.

94.5/92.1 BAY COUNTRY (KBAY/KKDV): This country radio station is actually based out of San Jose but can be heard clearly in most of the San Francisco area at 94.5, and 92.1 in the Oakland area. For the drive home we have Emily Harlan talking local and talks about her favorite attractions at Disneyland as Bay Country gives away passes to the Happiest Place on Earth in SoCal.

102.9 KBLX: It's Big Reid doing afternoons at the throwback and R&B station. He's fun. Not sure if I enjoy him more in afternoons or when he does nights at 997 NOW. And I wonder which show he does live. When I was working in Denver, I would do the afternoon show live at MIX 100 (KIMN), then rush over to the 92.5 The Wolf (KWLI) studio and do a live night show. Maybe Big Reid does the same? ;)
