Описание: Hello and welcome to our YouTube live feed. Join us as we follow the daily lives of our resident pair of barn owls, who’ve called our farm home for the past six years. This live stream has interior and exterior camera feeds from two nest boxes located in two of the farm buildings:

Nestbox One (Cameras 1,2 & 5): This nestbox is sited in a modern, open fronted, agricultural building used for storing hay bales.

Nestbox Two (Cameras 3 & 4): This nestbox is located in an adjacent stone barn, it is a very quiet location with minimal disturbance.

These stunning birds have successfully reared six broods since 2020, with over 18 young owlets fledging from the nest. Both adult owls are ringed - the male wears his ring on his right leg and has a beautiful brilliant white chest, while the female’s ring is on her left and she her chest is flecked with black spots - these features should hopefully help you to tell the birds apart.

WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW - OUR BROOD OF 2025:
The pair have successfully reared a brood of four owlets (2 males and 2 females) in Nestbox 2; all six eggs hatched but sadly the youngest two didn't survive, as is often the way.

To our delight the pair began laying again in Nestbox 1 on the 17th July, so we can look forward to following a second brood over the coming weeks.

There do seem to be plenty of small mammals – voles, mice and shrews – around at the moment but we are providing a little supplemental feeding in the form of day old chick, the sort used to feed reptiles and small carnivores in zoos. You will see the adult owls returning to the nestbox with these in the late evening – they can look like dead owlets on the floor of the box but please don’t worry!
