This ride had the coastline’s sweeping flair, suspense thick as sea mist, and a poor soul walked the plank straight into the wetlands. Think Strictly Ballroom on gravel.

Starting from Hastings, the trail winds past mangroves, Crib Point Marina, HMAS Cerberus, and the seaside town of Somers, before landing in Balnarring.

Burrowed from the repertoire of the Westernport Gravel Grinders, I can confirm their route is pure spectacle, a stage set with boardwalks, breakers, and bravado. So clip in, because by the final act you’ll be hammering the pedals, shouting “Viva Paso Doble!” like the star of your own fever-dream matinee.
