Valley Christian returned to winning form at home, securing a solid 28-14 victory over the Payson Longhorns. This win was familiar territory, as the Trojans also defeated Payson in their last matchup in October 2023.
The game’s highlight was quarterback Austin Schuder, who powered the offense with 128 rushing yards and a touchdown. Schuder also contributed through the air, throwing for 93 yards, with an impressive 82-yard connection to Asher Hanzal, who capped it off with a touchdown.
Valley Christian’s ground game dominated, racking up a season-high 247 rushing yards. Defensively, Noah Lewis made his mark with two interceptions, applying pressure on Payson’s quarterback and sealing the victory for the Trojans.
