Finishing up Apivar treatments in the backyard

Описание: In this video, I'm finishing putting Apivar strips into the rest of the colonies in my backyard. As far as the treatment goes, I'm using Apivar strips because It's the only treatment that I can see, that doesn't harm the bees, brood, or queen in the heat we have here in Vance co. North Carolina. I use those other treatments in the cooler parts of the year. I use Apiguard(thymol) in the early spring before the honey flow and before the supers are added. After the honey flow in June I treat with Apivar(amitraz). I use formic acid in the fall when it cools off a bit. If I have colony that is broodless, I will use oxalic acid because it only kills mites that are not in the capped brood. The take away here is that I'm alternating treatment every time I treat, so the mites don't have a chance to build a resistance to any particular treatment.
