Labour leader Ed Miliband offers support on IS group fight at party conference

Описание: (23 Sep 2014) Britain's opposition leader Ed Miliband backed US-led military coalition airstrikes against the Islamic State extremists across northern and eastern Syria, but urged the British Prime Minister to seek a United Nations Security Council resolution to rally international support against the Islamic State group (IS group).
"We support the overnight action against ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant). What needs to happen now is that the UN needs to play its part - a UN Security Council resolution to win the international support to counter that threat of ISIL," Miliband said while addressing Labour's annual party conference in Manchester on Tuesday.
The United States and five Arab countries launched airstrikes on Monday night on Islamic State group targets in eastern Syria, and the US undertook a separate, unilateral air attack on what it called an al-Qaida affiliate elsewhere in Syria.
The United States has confirmed that Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Jordan have assisted in the airstrikes.
