Shooting range in Almaty

Описание: The third day at Almaty was an eventful one with us getting straight to a shooting range! This was about 40 minutes drive from our hotel and apparently was an old range used by the erstwhile USSR army! Very nicely set up with a cozy coffee hut [ a place where we could get some respite from the cold breeze] and good open area all around. Handling the rifle was a great experience and recalled a similar experience as an NCC cadet in my school days!

Post that we went to the Green Bazzar, a public market in the city. It was inaugurated in 1875, and to date is an important trading point in Almaty. The market sells spices, prepared foods, produce, textile, furniture, and a wide variety of different objects, including antiques.

Dinner was at a famous steak house and must admit it was top class.

The Almaty airport is a cute little one and the beautiful view of the snow capped mountain range from there and from aircraft made our return trip memorable!
