Exploring the Moroccan city of Casablanca (

Описание: On our last day in Rabat, we checked out of our Airbnb around noon. We headed to the train station to catch a late afternoon train to Casablanca, where our Couchsurfing host, Ahmed, was waiting for us. After arriving, he took us straight to see the breathtaking Hassan II Mosque. It was even bigger and more magnificent in person than in the photos. Walking around the mosque at sunset was unforgettable.

The next day, we explored Casablanca. From the United Nations Square to the Arab League Park, Mohammed V Square, and the Habbous district. It seemed like almost everything we tried to visit was closed! We stopped by Rick’s Café for a cocktail. We admired the historic La Sqala fortress restaurant. It looked incredible but very expensive so we found a more budget-friendly lunch nearby. Afterwards, we went to the Casa Port to purchase our train tickets to Marrakesh.

Despite chaotic traffic, packed taxis, and a few stressful moments near the Royal Palace, it was an adventure-filled couple of days. We ended our time wandering the medina at night before heading home to get some much needed sleep. We are excited for our early morning train to Marrakesh, the next chapter of the journey.
