In minor phimosis the use of creams and ointments may initially be recommended to counteract the inflammatory process and to favor a recovery of skin elasticity. They may, however, be non-resolving with respect to phimosis.
Phimostop is an advisable remedy in both lower degree and intermediate major phimosis where the patient is strongly motivated to avoid circumcision surgery.
Circumcision is necessary in cases of extremely tight phimosis in which the foreskin cannot be retracted or in those cases in which the condition of foreskin restriction is associated with chronic infections that cannot be eradicated or with the presence of untreatable fissures.
